Criminal Justice

The Criminal Justice program at ACTI gives students both theory and hands-on experience with skills and knowledge in the field. We strive to emphasize the development of effective written and verbal communication, required professional and academic skills and problem-solving abilities, with a strong emphasis on overall safety.

The classes cover law enforcement, courts, corrections, criminal investigation and forensic science including:

  • A thorough examination of the criminal justice system and how its components operate.
  • Police operations, including how to make an arrest and all the aspects of how a police department functions.
  • Criminal investigation and forensic science techniques necessary to properly process and document a crime scene.
  • Criminal law and procedure, examining all aspects of the justice system and its operation.

ACTI’s Criminal Justice program complies with standard law enforcement training, which includes:

  • State and federal laws

  • Defensive tactics and handcuffing
  • Patrol procedures and survival skills
  • Extensive physical conditioning

  • Use of intermediate weapons (batons, pepper spray)

Required Student Purchases

Criminal Justice students are required to wear ACTI polo shirts (we recommend that you purchase 3) and khaki pants (we recommend that you purchase 2).  Total cost should be about $38.
