Diesel Technology
The Diesel Technology program at Adams County Technical Institute offers real-life training in the heavy-duty diesel industry. Whether you are interested in on-road or off-road applications, this program teaches the skills needed for an entry-level start to your future career. Our classroom and lab training always focuses on safety, but beyond that, students receive training in engines, powertrain, suspension, brakes, electrical and hydraulic systems, forklift operation and various essential shop skills. Qualifying students can even earn a PA State Safety Inspection License and other certifications that open up fantastic job opportunities.
As a senior in the second semester, you will participate in our job shadowing program where once a week you visit and work alongside experienced techs at various shops in our area. We are not your typical high school class, this a serious hands-on program. The best technicians know the theory, operation and diagnostics that are learned through classroom training as well as the shop. If you are interested in learning how to repair heavy-duty trucks, earthmovers, agricultural equipment, power-gen, or light-duty applications, get in touch with us!
