Career Connections

Program Description

This one-year program combines paid on-the-job training by matching the student with an employer that reflects the student’s career objective along with attending ACTI for general related cooperative education classroom instruction.  Admission to the program is offered to 12th grade students only who are unable to gain admission to an ACTI program due to excessive applicants, inability to meet entrance requirements for other existing programs, or lack of specific program areas offered at ACTI.

Through this instruction, students will gain employability skills and consumer skills with planned, supervised, and practical work experience in a business setting. Students will develop personal initiative, learn to work with others, and recognize the importance of an appropriate attitude and behavior for the occupation that will prepare for employment, entrance in an apprenticeship program, or to pursue post-secondary education.
